Introduction

The etherFAX Integration Module (EIM) is a Windows service that operates in the background and allows developers to easily send and receive faxes using the computer's file system. This service is provided for those that do not require the use of advanced API features or simply wish to add fax document delivery to an existing application.

The EIM supports a variety of file formats such as XML, RightFax FCL, GFI FaxMaker and others. To send a job, the developer simply creates a file with minimal information, such as a phone number and document to transmit. The job file is then placed in a drop directory monitored by the EIM where it is processed and notifications are provided as each job is completed.
